In certain regions Akzo Nobel Polymer Chemicals supplies a non-aromatic flame retardant that can be used in polyolefins as well as polystyrene.

FR-930 is a brominated, aliphatic, flame retardant meeting UL 94, V-2 and V-0 specifications. The product shows good retention of flame retardancy upon aging and has minimal effects on the processing properties of the polymer, when incorporated in an adequately stabilized formulation.
