Akzo Nobel offers a wide range of organic peroxide initiators that can be used for the production of solution and water borne acrylic resins, which are an essential part of decorative, automotive, car refinish and wood coatings. Other applications of acrylic resins include use as adhesives and toner resins.
Organic peroxide initiators are also extensively used in the manufacture of PMMA sheets, polyacrylic acids, polyvinylalcohols and oil additives. Organic peroxide initiators allow for the tailoring of polymer properties, such as molecular weight and viscosity. Furthermore, they help to reduce residual monomer.
Certain organic peroxides are used as curing agents/initiators in the manufacture of acrylic floorings, road-marking paints, sanitary ware, and other solid surface applications based on acrylic resins.
